Tracy Weinzapfel's July Creative Dare
I am a Tracy Weinzapfel fan and she has been doing monthly challenges. July's Creative Dare was to use your word of the year...I have to admit I never really could make up my mind what word I wanted so never chose one...so I chose one of the words I was thinking of choosing...FAITH. I found a great quote from Corrie Ten Boom and sat down to create. I opened my Caran d'Ache Neocolor II and was trying to choose a couple of colors...well as you can tell I have issues with making decision and choosing just one or a couple;) So as I was trying to decide I remembered God using the rainbow as a promise to Noah...alas my rainbow background....yea and didn't have to choose just a couple of colors!!!! Here's my finished canvas:
I am loving how it turned out. Thanks Tracy for being such an inspiration:)

Supllies Me Class
I have been working on the Supplies Me Class by Jane Davenport It is a great class. We are learning to draw faces and bodies...she is an amazing teacher. Here is some of my work...
This was my first assignment. We did a layered background and then drew on top of that.
The next lesson was learning to draw faces in different shapes.
This next lesson was learning to draw backs and "booties", and also the bottoms of feet.
I need to add backgrounds to the next 2.

I Love Color
I was reading Junelle Hallstrom Jacobsen's Yes and Amen Blog this morning (if you want to be blessed check out her blog) and she was talking about how color makes her happy. I feel the same way...for me the brighter the better!!! I had just taken a picture of a torch ginger before reading it and felt the need to post the picture and share a little color....
I took the picture for reference so that I can do a watercolor picture.
Color just makes me happy:)

The Sketchbook Challenge
I am taking part in the July Sketchbook Challenge...it is circles. Here is a canvas I made this weekend and I thought it fit the challenge. I layered muslin on the canvas and then dry brushed paint on it. I then made flowers, stems and leaves out of muslin. I was happy with how it turned out.

Busy Bee...
I have just been creating and creating and that puts me in my happy place:)
Here's what I was working on this weekend...
This first one is my 1st every mandala...learned about this from a fellow Color Lovely Linda Rapchak, who is an amazing artist and art teacher. These are so fun to do. You draw a series of circles, divide them into a 8 piece pie (who doesn't love pie) and then fill in the spaces and color.
This is for my Supplies Me Class by Jane Davenport. It's the background and below it is my finished page.
The last one is a 4x4 canvas and the start of my Scripture Canvas series. My poppies are made with my fingers ala Donna Downey:)

I Love Bright Colors..I am not Lying...
In my Joanne Sharpe Color Love 101 class we had to do a "Color Lovely" girl, who resembled us. There are some amazing artists taking this class so I was feeling a little...well maybe a lot intimidated about drawing. I kept putting it off and finally yesterday sat down and got to work and I have to say I amazed myself...she turned out pretty darn cute. Her is my "Color Lovely":
As I was writing "I love bright colors" the song/rap "I like big butts" came to mind and is still stuck in my head!!! I love bright colors..I am not lying..I love bright colors..lalalala.....

Here are Lessons 12 and 13 of Joanne Sharpe's Color Love 101 Class. They were done with crayons and water color. Not too happy with the result, so I am going to give it another try.
The next pages are done with Pan Pastels, which are really fun to work with.
This is the back of my mini album...
